TI rounds. The "short scale" set is 32". Very light, amazing strings. Last forever, feel and sound are both exquisite.
Oh dang, I didn't know they came in 32". I've wanted to try them for ages, but my #1 fretless didn't take to .95 so I didn't want to go lighter. I'll ask the luthier what he thinks about the light gauge.

Interesting on their website the 32" scale set has a 0.93" E, as opposed to the long scale set with a 0.89" E. Def gonna try them!
I just now came home from a rehearsal in which I played those strings on a new-to-me 1986 32" inch SquierJapan medium scale P-Bass. The bass was pretty much playing itself and sounding great. I think you will love them!
Cutting a 34" string to fit a 32 is no problem, I do it all of the time with my Ibanez Mezzo 5 and I've done it on 30" Scale basses too.
Using 34's on a 32' is usually not a problem with gauges but if you are stringing a 30 you need to bump up the gauges a bit so the strings won't be floppy. You have to measure the string to allow for wrapping around the tuner string post and then make a solid 90 degree bend in the string BEFORE you cut off the excess allowing enough to fit in the center of the tuners' string post to anchor it.
If you want to order exact fit strings Newtone will make you anything you want in any scale length you want.... Round Core, Hex Core, Taper Core, Stainless or Nickel. They make the custom gauge round core, stainless wrapped, tapered strings that I use, they cost more since they are custom and made in England but they are flawless, sound great and last a really long time., absolutely worth it.

TI "short scale" = 35.5" in winding length (ball end to taper/silk), which is actually at the long end of "medium scale" by most manufacturers.
Always think "winding length" instead of "scale length".
Yeah they should work. I'm going to ask Cliff to setup and ship with a set then go from there. Figure I'll buy them now while I'm also paying off the build, so the higher cost is in the noise. Then plenty of good advice in here if I decide to move away from the TIs later.

I've been on my "string journey" for the last 10 yrs, and spent quite a bit of money trying this and trying that. It's been worth it, though, as I have a very good idea now as to what works for me and what doesn't. Good luck in your quest...
My fretless Jazz is settled on DR Blues. But I guess here starts the journey for the Bordwell...
I actually just put DR Blues on my Bantam 5 (32" scale 5-string) last night. They work great -- just heed the directions, which state that you have to kink the string if you cut it shorter than expected. The string will come undone and/or potentially sound "dead" if you cut it short and don't kink it (take a pair of pliers and bend it to a right angle at the point that you want to feed it into the tuner).
Can't vouch for them personally, but Curt Mangan "short-scale" bass strings are really medium-scale-ready, at 34.75" winding ball to taper.
