Meisner

I'm not a big Eagles fan by any means, but my wife is. So when they came through town about 4 or 5 years ago, I scored some tickets and took her to see them live. I was blown away. They're not much to watch, but good lord can they sing and play.

I came to respect the Eagles after watching the documentary. Whatever they managed to achieve, it certainly didn't come easily—at any point, before or after their greatest successes. I can totally pay tribute to that level of devotion towards any positive goal. Are they a band I like? No way. But they hung in there, and you can't run that down. And I have been TOTALLY outvoted in the marketplace in terms of their popularity. I say, Bravo!

...looks like Meisner was the original Poco bassist ('68-'69).
TBS was Poco's bassist between '69 thru '77.

I do not recall a dropoff with Poco after TBS joined.
I would think all these guys knew each other & hung around the same circles...
If you needed a player to replace Meisner...TBS was "the guy".

"Eagles" (not THE Eagles) ceased to exist when Bernie Leadon and Randy Meisner got the boot. For that reason, I jump off the bus at Hotel California. I do dig a lot of Henley's solo material. The rest of the band (including Joe Walsh) is a snoozefest.

All MHO of course.

Leadon has been back for awhile now.

I watched it last year on TV. Great documentary. I learned a lot.
Randy was great with them. Timothy was the only person to replace him in the band. (Eagles & Poco)
Anyone notice how old Randy looks nowadays? The years and hard living has not been kind to him. Back in the day he looked like the youngest member. Now he could pass for Henley's dad!

He's been touring with them for the last few years, no, I'm not mistaken.

This was complete news to me too, but according to Wikipedia (I know, shame on me for citing them!)

"Original Eagles guitarist Bernie Leadon also appeared on the (2013) tour.... However it has been reported that former members Randy Meisner and Don Felder will not appear. Meisner had been invited but could not participate due to health problems, while Felder was never asked due to ongoing legal disputes with the band."
