Mesa 8x10 vs. Ampeg 8x10

I used to play through a USA Ampeg fridge for about 3 years. I eventually sold it when I moved since it wasn't worth movin across the country and fridges are a dime a dozen. However I also thought it lacked in the low end, and, in general didn't sound very good.

Played a Mesa 6x10 and it was louder than the Ampeg (I used the same head both times) and had a more even frequency response. Not to mention it sounded better to my ears. I plan on getting the 6x10 when I have the money and getting a second cab at a later date.

You know, Ashdown makes a pretty sweet 810... you know, the ABM stuff. Really popular with rock and metal guys...
I did a gig with Eric Burdon a couple months ago, and his bassist had one. She sounded great. "Wooly" was the term the guys in her band used to describe it. I never got to try it but she offered. I figured with 7 acts on the bill it would just make too much trouble to use it and I used the rented SVT-CL.
