Mesa Boogie Basis M2000 M-2000 Bass Guitar Amplifier

Well I tried one I was going to trade for my Iamp800 and it was so quiet, massively loud hum and just very unimpressive but from what I've read I think this was broken so could explain a lot.
I don't know if that helps or not, features wise it sure is impressive I just wish it had had the sound.

The sound was great, better than what I'm running now, but it's a heavy and complex head-- which is why I traded it away.
If I weren't doubling on the DB *and* running our band's PA, the complexity would be fine with me, but a few nights of not getting my tone and being too preoccupied to fix it on the fly precipitated the trade.

I don't think you'll be unhappy with the amp if you're open to something that complex-- if you understand EQ and compression, you should be good to go. The "DEMO" setting in the manual is a good starting point.

I own one for almost 10 years now. I use it with two cabinets, bottom is a boogie 15" and top also boogie 2x10 plus 2" HF. All speakers EV. Due to a lot of touring I have played with almost everythig that is around for bass amplification and I can seriously say that this set is top gear.
Lots of power, very versatile, you can have up to 5 different sounds on your feet with the assorted pedal. Quite complex, but it's worth it.
Sound engineers love it anyway.
