Ok...well, I was hoping you'd expand a bit more as to what other brands / models are available where you live, but at this stage I guess the only bits of advice I'd give you are the following:
- Go try one of the F-500s, see if you like that kind of tone;
- Go try one of the D-800 (same idea as above). If no store has it in stock, ask what their return policy is - be honest and tell them you're very interested in that amp, but need to try it before you buy, they might be willing to help;
- Inquire about the warranty for the D-800 (Does the store take care of everything should it need to return to Mesa? Or would you have to do all the legwork?);
- Ask local musicians for a good repair technician, and if they work on MarkBass gear (if there are many MarkBass amps around, there's probably a couple of guys who know how to fix them!). Once you've found repair technicians, ask them what the most common issues are with these amps, and how costly it is to fix, typically. Ask current / previous owners, too (preferably guys on this forum who don't have a F-500 to sell!). Obviously, skip this step if you don't care for the tone of this amp...
- If you like the tone of the Mesa, ask yourself if the extra features of the "+" are an absolute necessity for you and if they justify the extra cost (you could buy a used amp just with the $ you'd need for those features, just sayin'!). Many, many TB members gig the "regular" D-800 and are extremely happy with it.
