Mesa Boogie, Part 3

4 weeks ago I ordered a mesa m9 and two 212 cabs. Really pumped to get it. Kinda bummed though!!!!
I was told by the store that it would be in by now. Called the other day only to find Mesa says the end of July.
Is this normal to wait almost 3 months on a Mesa Amp.????

If one is not in stock, I'd say yes. When I got my 810 PH cab it took 8 weeks to come in.

We build everything to custom order - we have no warehousing and don't build for stock. Most items are available within an 8-10 week time frame, plus shipping. Depending on when your order gets in, and how the runs are scheduled - it can sometimes be 8-12 weeks. Keep in mind we are a small shop, making a large number of products by hand! Thanks!

Please don't change anything you do! It was all worth the wait!!! I would also like to say thanks for being apart of this forum, and actually caring about what we think and say.

Ok just played a private party with the titan through my recent acquired dr.bass 2060 man oh man thick and warm. Fassssst attack defined and edgy when I wanted. The overdrive is awsome. Gave up my aguilar agro as part of the trade deal to get this head. The dual channels via the footswitch. Wow. The power on tap lots of headroom. As happy as I've ever been with my tone.

Just got my new M9 and two 212 cabs Today. Amp is Monsterous.
I have a question slash problem.
When my compressor is on I get a loud Hum. And that's without my instrument cable even being plugged in.
Hmmm...you might want to call MESA about that one. My M9 never made any noises like that. They're customer service is fantastic! If you do get the voicemail in the service department, they will call you back. It might take a day, but they will call back. I usually will leave a message, but I'll try again later.

I am looking for a speaker cabinet setup that would work well with both the Walkabout and the M6. Probably modular (2 1x12's, 2 2x10's or 2 1x15's) but I might be willing to go for a 2x12 or 4x10. I want something that will work well with effects, particularly distortion. IME that means the more speakers the better, and no tweeter. I suppose Mesa is the obvious choice but I am open to suggestions. Some others I have considered are:

-Ampeg: 2x SVT-210AV, 2x SVT-112AV, SVT-212AV, 2x SVT-15E
-Aguilar: 2x DB 112NT or 1 DB112 and 1 DB112NT
-GK: 2x Neo 112-II (I feel like this wouldn't be a good match though)
-Tech21 B410
-Bergantino: Not sure which model or series would best suit my needs

I've heard great things about the Mesa 112s but they're not light for a 112. If I was looking for a smaller setup it would be a pair of the PH112 cabs or two GK NEO 112s. Why do you feel that the GKs wouldn't work?

Big fan of Mesa, Bergantino and GK cabs, and I definitely love my SVT-210AV's.

That being said, Duke LeJeune's cabs, particularly the Hathor line, work extremely well with distortion (and sound amazing without it). Two Hathor 1203's is an amazing rig, as is a single Hathor 1855.

I have a single GK Neo 112-II and while I have not paired it extensively with the Walkabout and M6, my initial impression was that it sounded too bright with the M6. Compared to the Scout 12 cab, the GK was way different with the Walkabout- didn't have that same warmth as the scout cab.
I'm sure I couldn't go wrong with a pair of PH112's or PH210's- the weight is probably the only negative for me, but at least it's manageable with a modluar rig such as that.

Thanks for the tip on the Hathor 1203. I am definitely tempted by the SVT-210AV's, especially with how affordable they are. I've heard they work great with the Walkabout. My concern is that they wouldn't handle the M6's power.
