Good luck finding any MB affiliate that does not strictly adhere to their pricing. To the penny! I dont mind paying a little more for good gear. Mesa stuff is worth every penny, and not nearly the most expensive.

Mesa has been set prices since the 70s when we first started using them. If you want a Mesa Boogie you pay the price. We can complain and moan all we want, but it's always been their policy. I personally buy direct from Mesa, even my power tubes and such.
You fail to understand that the issue in discussion was a reseller not discounting a very blemished item, that could not pass as new, with the excuse that Mesa don't allow them to do so.
I don't understand what the big deal is...
I bought my M6 off the floor of a GC knowing full well that kids had fiddled with it, guitards had cranked it up, etc.
I've been gigging with it for the past 6 months without issue. I have a warranty if anything actually went wrong with it and it's cosmetically perfect.
I looked at it this way: The market is has a fairly high demand for this amp. I didn't want to wait to order one, and I didn't want a used one shipped from another person for a minor discount (20 - 25% usually for a year old or more amp). For my money, I wanted to buy a nearly brand new amp with warranty from a place I could return it if I had any issues.
To me, that is the cost of business, not a reason to bitch about price fixing. As the market clearly shows, people are ready and willing to pay $1k+ for this amp since it's absolutely worth that and more, regardless of its first few hours of use.
While you also choose to ignore the fact that the seller wants to keep the Mesa Boogie brand in his line up.
The business the store owner generates by selling new Mesa Boogie products is more profitable then making a one time sale to you and then loosing the right to carry the brand for underpricing.
