Any thoughts on a mesa head, I hope to go try one out, but the closest dealer is 2 hrs away, so thought id get and idea before i went

Depends on which one and what kind of tone you are looking for... I myself have 3 Mesa amps the Titan V12, the Walkabout, and a 400+ and I love each one of them to death.
It depends on how much you are looking to spend also.
I strongly suggest trying the M6 and M-Pulse 600 as those 2 amps are out-FREAKING -standing and a great place to start!

Im looking for a lot of low ends, and wouldnt mind a bit of distortion, but a lot is not needed, ive looked at all the models and like the M6 and the M-Pluse 600, but havent really heard them, thats the problem, but i hope to, and price wise $2000 is my limit
For that budget you should be able to afford almost any of thier heads.
Far more importantly though is what cabinet will it be going into?
They also have a Carbine combo that has a built in M6 and 2 12" combo that sounds fabulous for under the 2000 budget!
the best amp in the world will still sound terrible through a bad cabinet!
