Mesa Powerhouse 2x12 Rig ....

Haha we usually get there in plenty of time to setup; it's the issue of waiting for the prior band to unload from the stage and us get on with all of our crap and then soundcheck w/in 10-15 mins! :p :D

don't those cabs have trac-loc casters that are removeable with the push of a button..it should take 8 seconds to remove them..push and slide...surely you have 8 seconds?? :)

Congrats on an awesome rig!

How well do the Powerhouse 212's handle a low B-string? I'm in the market for some new cabs, can the Powerhouse 212 nail an old school 70's era rock tone?

Would a pair of these 212's get stupidly loud when needed?

If so, they'll be on the top of my list!

I played a PH212 with my GK700RB-II and lemme tell ya, that cab is like a bass cannon. They are built like the proverbial famous brick ****house and they literally produce bass WIND. My dream 212...couldn't afford at the time and they are a bit heavy for a neo speaker cab but man are they awesome.

This is 212 porn.

Sometimes, nope. ;)
Double that to 16 seconds when you gotta put 'em back on to get off stage! :D

Seriously it's not a big deal but at times I don't have time to mess with the casters, simply b/c our drummer has way too freaking big of a rack kit and he's slow as-is so I gotta help with that and then set up the pedalboard, wireless, both basses, etc.. It's way easier to just set it on the side and go with it.

Yeah, it must be a drummer thing. They're all slow as turtles. My singer has always been faster at setting up their drumset s than each of our drummers.

Yeah it's absurd. He really needs to get rid of that dang rack system and just go back to what he had before. It's not that huge of a difference and now since he's started using in-ears (which is great for playing) that's even MORE time he delays our start times.

Well it has been a long 8 week wait waiting for my custom Mesa Blue Bronco Powerhouse 2x12 Cabs to arrive. But they are finally hear and look and sound killer !!! Just love these cabs !!!

Very sweet indeed... I have the Aguilar version... It doesn't get much better than a modular 4x12 bass rig!

This was my PH2x12.

Does anyone else's look like this with mis matched drivers ?

That's really interesting... two different drivers. Did you buy that directly from Mesa or did you buy used?

This is what my PH 212 looks like... same drivers.

I think Rockstar is right. That does not look like a stock speaker and I can't imagine that Mesa would make a part substitution like that. But, I could imagine a dealer as far away as Australia doing a part substitution rather then order an OEM part from Mesa.

These can take a B string all day long. I have my B tuned to low A or G depending on the tune and even with my M9 it handles it no sweat.

And yeah- I have 2. Ask my guitards how stupidly loud it is against both of their stacks! :D It's a much better solution for me than the PH412.

Simply crushing. The ultimate Triple Rec full stack killer.

Hey rockstarbassist, UPS delivered one of my Mesa PH 212's today (UPS will hopefully bring my second cab tomorrow). I plugged my Demeter HBP-1/Crest CA9 into it, Great Sound. :)

Is there any break-in period with Mesa's neodymium drivers that you're aware of?

Honestly I can't say specifically- I've been using these Mesa 12"-equipped cabs (including the PH412) for going on like almost 3 years now, so it's tough to say. :(
I'm sure there's gonna be a little but just depends on how much you gig and at what volumes.
We gig probably 4-8x a month and 1-3x a week for practice so mine get used and with my M9 I crank it pretty good so the cones/drivers really move.
So agian I'm sure there's some but I really couldn't say "how much", ya know?

Thanks, man. I think I'll go easy on 'em at first, just in case. What a great sound I'm getting out of the single 2-12. My bass sounds punchy, warm, and still defined. -You're 100% right, the cab handles my low-B with ease.

Thanks for recommending the PH 212. I'm sure the stack will handle everything I do, -and plenty more.

Glad you're enjoying! And trust me- it ONLY gets better with the pair! ;) :bassist:
