I've got one too many cabs here... something has to go.

This is a Mesa Scout 12 combo cab, an earlier model without the PCN "bright/sheen" switch, but with the rotary horn attenuator(?).

<edit> I had a PowerHouse 12 in it for a while, but have re-installed a bone-stock newer style Mesa 4ohm driver. It sounds fantastic - these cabs have a HUGE sound, partly due to the passive radiator in the bottom.

Great for use as an extension cab or drop in a Mesa Walkabout amp. This one is in very nice shape, covered in black "Rhino" tolex, and black leather corners and handle, with only some very minor scuffs... nothing a Sharpie pen wouldn't cover. Black grillcloth with gray piping is un-marred. Comes with it's original cordura cover, which has received casual abuse, but just in the course of doing it's job of protecting the cab.

$350 shipped. (U.S. only please)

*edit - reduced to $325
**edit - bottom dollar $300

I'm interested but have concerns about the driver. Is it the same model as what comes in the cab originally? If not, is it intended as an upgrade?

It was more of an experiment than an upgrade... upon thinking about it, I re-installed the stock speaker, and edited the ad accordingly.

PM me if you're interested, Thanks! :)

Here's what's in the cab now:

Thats the original Neo speaker that likely came with the cab out of the factory. I'd guess 8 ohm. I don't think you can get Neo speakers in the new Mesa Scout cabs anymore. Now they are heavier.

Thanks for the the positive ID Mutha, but it's a 4 ohm. I have two of them just alike, since replacing them with 8 ohm drivers in both of the two Scout cabs I gig with. (to make a 4 ohm load)

Like my original post said, I have one too many cabs here, this older one is odd-man-out. ;)

Can you still obtain the sparkling highs from this combo? I am not familiar with a the term "rotary horn attenuator".

Sparkling highs, Thundering lows, and everything between. The Scout cab is a full-range combo-cab for a Mesa Walkabout amp, that can also be used as an extension cab.

Regarding horn attenuation;

This cab does not have the 3-point crossover selector feature (Player Control Network) found on newer Scout cabs, it has the simple knob, seen in picture #4 of the original post ^above^.

*** please PM me any specific questions, as the TB mods don't like the classifieds operating as discussion threads. (see thread bumping policy)

Thanks for the interest! ;)

Lots of interest, but still here... I'm open to fair offers. It's a nice cab, I just don't need three of them.

Thanks for the plug!

I would also consider trades... I'd really like a lightweight extension cab suitable for upright gigs, but preferably something that can handle 300w output of the Walkabout.

Throw it at me - whatcha got?

I have an Epifani 1x10 prototype cab. It sounds better and bigger than any 1x10 I've ever heard. Great with upright. 8 ohms. Tweeter with attenuator. rear ported. Finish is fairly raw - looks kinda like a Birch Bag End. I'd keep it but I need just a skootch more sound for small gigs/ rehearsals. I'd trade it towards your cab and add $100.

$325 for the cab.

Trades considered, but would rather sell outright.
