Mesa Subway+ Pre DI , discontinued?

Without having insight regarding why, at face value this seems like an odd business decision to me. Given that Mesa and Gibson are smart companies, I wonder if it was driven by limitations in the supply chain and having to choose between building amps or preamp/DI boxes - or maybe something equally as frustrating for company leadership to have to wrestle with in the business dynamics of the post-COVID world. Just a thought...

Yeah - that's getting to be a pretty crowded field at this point. I've never used the Mesa Preamp, but I don't it think it would provide what most are looking for. My 800+ head (I assume it's the same preamp circuit) is very transparent, not a bad thing, I run a pedal board in front of it so having it just reproduce what's coming in isn't a bad thing. But as a stand-alone, there's not a lot of character.

The subway pedals have a couple great features that aren't seen much. They are designed to do what I've wanted to do really - have a mic level post-eq out to FOH that isn't effected by the master volume (so I can adjust my amp volume, if I have one, without messing up the feed to foh) and a line-level out to drive the poweramp of my FRFR setup if using an amp. The subway+ has an fx loop that I'm running a genzler r/eq on to allow tweaks to the feed to the on stage cab without impacting foh sound. It is the perfect setup! One last edit: I do have a broughton lpf/hpf right before the input to the preamp to roll off highs... no cabsim needed. If the subway +had an lpf at the end of the signal chain for both the mic and line outs , it would be the perfect preamp pedal for those after an analog ampless setup.

OK this answers teh questions I just posted. I have one, but I'll now start buying up spares. My favorite piece of gear. Hope this wasn't a "Gibson Thing." If so it makes me worry, as Gibson is not known to make good decisions about....well anything.

Seems like some top notch company's are now offering 'Pedal Sized' preamps for many reason's. Almost flooding the Market.

Bergantino, Aguliar, Ashdown, Orange, Markbass, Trickfish, Genzler [sort of] along with usual suspects
Nobel, Origin, Arkham, Radial, Darkglass, Broughton, Sansamp and a few more I can't think of at this moment.

I am sure there is a reason[lack of interest?] but it is perplexing were not seeing more quality 'Active' Powered[not just powered] Bass Cabinets from popular

Powered amps or amp modules that can be added to a pre-pedal to form a mini-stack of mix-and-match pre- and -power amps.

You can always use one of the heads, although the price of those have certainly gone up, and you'll have to not only carry extra gear but make sure nobody steps on it.
