Yeah - that's getting to be a pretty crowded field at this point. I've never used the Mesa Preamp, but I don't it think it would provide what most are looking for. My 800+ head (I assume it's the same preamp circuit) is very transparent, not a bad thing, I run a pedal board in front of it so having it just reproduce what's coming in isn't a bad thing. But as a stand-alone, there's not a lot of character.

Disagree. Best bass preamp di for my needs. I'm not looking for character though, I used it to overcome short comings of other amps. It's di just sounds better than the keep stuff most venues keep around here too.

Looking to put together a fly in rig and the Subway Plus DI really fit the bill.

I own both. Different flavors for sure. I never gig thr Magellan though because of the reversed inputs. I have. Small board with tuner. Compressor and pre and it makes it in weird.

I have a small board as well and it's seamless as the patch cable doesn't block any other inputs.
