Mesa Subway TT800 Distortion issue

I've been using the TT-800 for 6 months to a year now and I have had this problem two or three times.
I'm using a Darkglass 212ne cab. I also tried it on my Ampeg cab, same issue. Both cabs are 4ohm, where my selection switch is set. I turned off the cab, flipped the selection switch back and forth a few times, then set it back to 4. When I turned it back on everything sounded fine.

Fender P-bass, and a Jaguar bass in passive. same problem with both.

tried 3 different cables for the speakers.

I have a tube tester, and all my tubes test normal. so maybe the switch has an issue?

How are you turning off the cabinet? Is there some additional outboard switching you are using?

It's possible that there is an issue with the impedance switching, if the problem continues you can give our customer service folks a call and they can arrange for the amp to be serviced at the factory.

That's odd, the first time I have seen this. I don't know what it might be but if it happens again, give Kris a call in customer service and have him run it by Justin. I will ask him when I see him later this week also.

I've had Mesa Subway TT for a couple of years now without a single hiccup. I did not use it for a couple of months, now I'm having the same unwanted distortion problem, ugh!!@!!
Is the problem present in both the Subway and Boogie channels or just one channel?

Is the problem present when using the aux input?

Is the problem present with headphones only?

HI I am having the same problem on both channels.
Regular Jazz passive Bass, settings about what everyone prior described and too much distortion ? switched heads to a Mark Bass with same cable, cabinet, guitar and sounds great. tried reducing gain a lot and increasing volume, did not help ?
Read a lot of post with this problem so what's the solution? ?
I really wanted to love this head but on the verge of selling it and going back to a GK Fusion
thanks Danny in New Orleans

Correct, it's possible that V1 is defective, that's the only tube common with both channels.

Dis you do the other troubleshooting steps I suggested? That will provide more information before making the assumption that it's the tube.

It's not a common problem, but tubes can become defective.
