Mesa WD800 cab suggestions

I run a D-800+ with an AK Hathor 1506 and Hathor 1203. It sounds fantastic. I'm strongly considering upgrading to the WD800 for additional options, but the 800+ ought to be a good approximation and confirmation that it will sound great with Hathors.

My only "problem" might become too many options. The Hathor cabs each have 3 plugable ports and various switches to control crossover points. The WD800 looks like it can do everything including cooking breakfast. Endless tweaking via amp and cab is a good excuse to not practice.

I can assure you the WD-800 is outstanding with the CN212...as well as every other amp I paired it with, including the original Walkabout. As much as I like Mesa products as a matched set, the WD-800 was specifically designed (and tested) to play well with other top tier gear such Bergantino, AudioKinesis, GK and others.

@Al Kraft So if you were to choose between GK 212 Neo (silver grill), Mesa SW212 or Mesa SW210 what would be your choice to pair with WD-800 out of those three?

I think the Mesa 212 would be excellent and the GK Neo 212 II (silver grill...I own two 112 II's) would also be excellent. As a long time WA Scout 112 combo owner, either of those two get you that original sound a lot more!

It would really boil down to what your tone goal was. I find the GK Neo 12" driver cabs to be a more neutral/balanced kind of voicing (in the same sense of the SW115, very balanced) with a smooth extended bass for a 12" loaded cab. The Mesa SW 112 is a little more mid focused although the SW 212 tends to bring out a more balanced sound to my ear with greater depth so the mid focus is less pronounced IMO.

The SW 212 will have a little smoother, more polished/refined sound than the GK IMO and would likely be my first choice, but the GK Neo would be right on its heels if it were a compettion.

IMO the Mesa 210 is a fine cab, but I prefer the SW 12" and 15" cabs to it simply as personal preference. The SW 115 is my favorite and I own two of them and one SW 112. I like the modularity and love the combined voicing of the 115 and 112 together.
