Sorry, I sometimes abuse bad puns. But seriously, has anyone else noticed there are like zero MIA Fender necks available? I remember American standard, American series, American Special etc. necks all being readily available through places like the Stratosphere. Even American Professional I necks were around for awhile.
Of course you don’t really care until you need one, right?
Recently a “like new” loaded American series Precision body came up for sale in my hood for a really decent price (like less than a new loaded Player MIM body) and it had me considering my first build. But, it seems like there aren’t a lot of MIA necks to come by other than the vintage spec (not my flavor and really pricey) ARVI ones.
Anyone know what gives?
Should I even care? Are parts basses substantially less valuable even if they’re from the same series anyway?
I know I could always go for a Warmoth or a Player neck. But I’d like to match it as closely as possible, especially because I have a MIA P that I have nothing but great things to say about. I dunno, just interested in everyone’s perspective.
Even if I buy it, I’ll probably stow it away for awhile until I have more play around money to buy the neck I’d want. I’m sure when that time would come the classifieds here would be a good source too.
