Fantastic interview.
Working with the Herman Band sounds like pure heaven. Just get on the bus, show up and play, everything’s taken care of, get back on the bus… what a life!
He’s the first guy I’ve heard talk about the one hand logistics problem with playing in a big band and trying to handle books and charts. It’s a thing, and nobody gets it!
