I agree with this. I think the whole idea that it encourages misogyny comes mostly from the fact that guys with misogynistic tendencies use it that way often. What's a Seaward anywho?

As for the Roots and Jimmy Fallon? Hilarious!

I'm with Matty on Seaward.

I can't remember the last time I had diarrhea....but I have had some really soft deuces that look like those tall, pointy trees that line most residential streets in the LA area and that have an exceedingly long cleanup time. I can't put my finger on why that is

The ONLY open mexican restaurant in town. Oh man.. i have done that and it wasn't pretty. The best is waking up next to stream of carne asada burrito next you on the bed. From the mouth region of course.. :eek:

Not that Ive never used that word in reference to my ex wife either, but shes the only one thus far.

My favorite was Insignifi*seaward* Other.

It's my experience that women really dislike being called the B-word by men. To many women, it is a loaded term with a lot of baggage. It is a word I avoid because I do think it tends to be hurtful to women in general. Saying that it only applies to some women, doesn't cut it, IMO.

Imagine this - a car stuffed with 4 drunken slobs and one sober driver. We drive waaaaay out of our way because some idiot (me) decides it would be cool to get mexican food at 3 am. We all gorge ourselves then decide to road trip to god only knows where..after about 30 mins of driving we all start farting. tee hee hee. Even the one poor sober bastage. It's all fun and games until about 10 mins later when we're all desperately looking for a gas station or open fast food place to drop some splashy deuces... we get to the one open gas station then fight each other to get into the bathroom. It was hell I tells ya..

But back on to other things.. yeah I'm with matty on the seaward thing.

That's a very valid point. But, like other words which are much worse in my opinion, WOMEN do call each other that a lot. It is different for a man to say it, but it's not like they haven't heard it at some point in their life. I'm not saying that it is appropriate though.

I think you'll find, Dr. Cheese, that many younger women actually use that term to define themselves in an endearing manner. Perhaps they dont like to be called the word by men, but Id presume that most men would not like being called the equivalent gender specific term, either. I mean, no one likes to be referred to in a derogatory manner.
I wont deny the misogynistic way that the word is often used, especially in music. Im never been a fan of referring to women as b****es, as a whole, but I have no problem with saying that my ex certainly classifies as one.

Funny enough, it was a thread about "signifigant others at gigs" or something like that where I first coined the term. I was suprised I got away with it, actually. I believe a mod may have even commented on it.

I think that no one really likes to be called a derogatory name regardless of what it is. Some deserve it by god, but I think it's bad form to use names of any sort directly to a person (or in reference to). If I have something to say to someone who's really ticking me off, I just say what I think. My ex is a classic example of someone who would probably deserve it, but damned if I'd ever stoop to her level.

Yeah...I could see where others do not like what The Roots did but after watching the video, this fact makes it more on the side of funny and not quite over the offensive line. Plus, it's kind of a silly inside thing. 85% of the audience had no idea what song that was, or if it was even a real song.

Turock...Fallon didn't know they were going to play this song. It was spur of the moment

You know what? I am not asking for you to be banned, or your topics locked, or anything of the sort. In fact, I would LOVE to debate politics with YOU any time. But as soon as I do, I end up having to go on "vacation" for two weeks. So, someone is definitely in your corner, on most of these issues.
