I have 4 Fretless and my jazz with Di Marzio Model Js, John East Retro J preamp and GHS Tapewounds through my Markbass Jeff Berlin Combo and NY151 extension cab and Sans Amp Programable BDDI get me tonally in the ball park but as many have said here-its really all about his technique and approach to the instrument above all else to get that illusive Karn sound.
