Micro filter and octave suggestions

Sort of new to effects, and have recently built a small pedal board that I want to keep small. The two main effects I use are an octave (ala sledgehammer) and envelope filter for funk slappy lines. I currently use a Spectrum for both, and although it sounds good it’s a PITA to switch between sounds. I figure I could find two mini pedals to replace it with and still have room on the board? Any suggestions for mini/micro filter and octave?

Sonicake Octaver is an ok OC-2 -type octaver in a mini size and easy on the wallet.
You'll probably get a heap of Cog Effects T-16 recommendations as well.

No idea about the filter, sorry.

Thanks, I saw Cog mentioned in another thread, I haven’t heard of them before, but will check them out.

The only mini sized filter that I have been satisfied with is the Mooer Sweeper, a clone of a sort to the EHX Bass Balls but more flexible. My only mini Octave to mention is the TC Sub n Up mini there are a lot of interesting options available as TonePrints easily loaded from a phone.

The Mr. black mini octave was nice, it works well. For mini filters, a lot of ppl like the Micro tron. I also like the Function(FX) Accufunkture. It's tiny, and sounds great.

A great mini Octave is the MXR Vintage Octave.
Unfortunately, you don't have that much options for filter in a mini pedal form.

Mooer mod factory has a bunch of effects including auto wah, phaser and a ring mod. They all have the ability to be pretty funky in their own right. I have an original Mk1 and it’s been rock solid for over a decade now for me. It’s not my first choice for filter, which is actually the Spectrum! Besides the bigger and really hard to get Chunk Systems 00Funk I like the Mr Black Fwonk Beta.
I would stick with the Spectrum and get a mini Octaver, which are easier to come by.
One other suggestion I could make for a filter would be the Bananana Effects Matryoshka, which is a Synth

I ran into a similar problem with the Aftershock a long time ago. If you’re only switching between two presets, you can easily solve the problem by connecting a Source Audio Tap Tempo pedal and configuring it in the Neuro app to switch presets.

With that said - the Tap Tempo has an extremely small footprint, but your board seems maxed out as it is…

A great mini Octave is the MXR Vintage Octave.

I replaced my OC-2 with a Vintage Bass Octave. Great pedal.

Thanks for all the suggestions I think I’ve narrowed it down to the TC sub n up mini and either a mooer sweeper or Solid Gold fx funk Lite.
I can’t seem to find the funk lite online anywhere, but the sweeper is cheap enough to try. Are they too cheap, meaning high failure rate, clip with high output bass, etc?

IME, yes. You get what you pay for.

Perhaps you could solve the problem in a different way?

You have some space on that board still AND the MXR is big for what it is. I would downsize the MicroAmp, keep the Spectrum and get a Disaster Area DMC Micro. This takes the thing you have and makes it way more capable, while staying compact.

Interesting, never heard of it, how does it work with the spectrum? Does it allow you to switch between the presets?

IME, yes. You get what you pay for.

This is why I’m skeptical of the really cheap pedals, regardless of the reviews.

can you elaborate on the tap tempo thing? I was looking in the neuro app just now and didn’t see preset switching as an option. What you describe would be very convenient for me

I just remembered that I did own Mooer Sweeper, but was not impressed by it. It was my first filter pedal (sans wah), so I may have expected it to do something else.

Doesn't the spectrum contain an option for an OC-2 type Octave sound as well? With this, no other mini Octaver would be necessary, or am I wrong?

I really like the Bass Sweeper in the fuzz mode. The filter on its own is above average but a little too subtle and doesn't have enough controls for my taste. No problem with a Stingray output, so fairly hot signal.
