Micro Heads which are stable @ 2 ohms ??

We'll as the title says, which Micro amps can operate and are rated to go down to 2 ohms operation?

I'm not sure but the only ones I can think of is the

EA Micro550 ??

The Shuttle Max 12 can 'functionally' do this, since it can run 4ohms per side. The TecAmp Puma1000 is similar, and also has the option of bridging for full power into a large 8ohm cab.

Not "micro", but very light... the Genz Benz NeoPak 3.5 goes 500w at 2ohm. 8lbs or so.

That's the only one I can think of off the top of my head as well. I also had the 2ohm version.

Not micro in size but microish in weight.

Puma1000 has separate volume controls for each side.

Per the above, the AI Clarus amps (the Focus has been discontinued) will run at 2ohms all night with no problems. The Carvin mentioned above is another that does 2ohms. It's not in the same league as the AI and TecAmp amps according to reviews on this site, but it's also a small fraction of the cost. That might be the best bet for you, unless you want to spend big bucks.

The Eden WT405 is also very nice sounding, reasonably small (not micro, but still quite small and lightweight), and will pump at 2ohms.

ohm is a measure of resistance. The lower the rating the less resistance is seen by the amp. As you lower the resistance, you increase the current flow, the amp puts out more power, works harder and gets hotter. An amp that is not stable at 2 ohms will run too hot and might fail for numerous reasons

I think a lot of modern heads are "stable" at 2 ohms, or even lower.
The problem is the over-current, short circuit protection kicks in and the amp shuts down to protect itself. But there is plenty of time before such protection clicks in.
You wouldn't be able to get out twice the wattage at 2ohms, but you should be able to work at lower volume levels. The Carvin, provides a voltage switch so the head never exceeds the rated wattage at lower ohm levels.
IMHO - I don't think the industry needs to take this further. Future should be powered cabs with built with internal amps that produce the maximum wattage into their internal drivers.

I think stable means that the amp will work reliably in most, if not all, conditions.
