MicroBass external speaker ??

Just bought a microbass II. I read that when using the external speaker that it disables the internal speaker. Is there anyway of getting around that or is that just a bad idea. I have a 10" scorpion that I plan to install in a homebuilt cabinet and would like to use that with the 8".

Also if all of this is not correct thinking, would a 2X10 cabinet work well with this amp. Any recommendations would be appreciated.

I am just starting to play again after a 20 year hiatus and have a Carvin L75M 5 string.

Wanted to mention a mistake in my previous post.
I have a scorpion s-12825 12" speaker that I would like to use as a single cabinet as an extension but still use the existing 8" speaker
