Had one for a year..
Don't spend your money on this one, if you're
going to play with it live.
It didn't handle a medium level rehearsal.
It's good for home practicing, packs nice tone if you use a compressor with it.
But those are 50 watts without balls.

compressor????I ma talking about gigs where I can almost play acoustically, but need a slight help. Maybe piano, bass, drums and saxophone, trumpet, and I just need a bit of extra love to keep up with the guys.
I used to play through a peavey Microbass, and I think those are only 30 watts! and it was fine for a jazz gig.
Anyway, the Micromark looks very promising. Although a bit pricey for me to just go out and buy one without being able to try it first...
I've gigged with one but only get it if size is your most important thing. GK MB112 is a better bet IMO and cheaper.

that's a concern...I do have the GK Mb 112. ANd even that is a bit overkill for a lot of gigs.
can you get a nice dark sound with the MM just to sort of fill in the room. Or does it lack a lot of low end, due to it's size?

I think if I were going to the micro amp route, I'd get an Acoustic Image Contra with the Cabrio Dock because it would give me the option of using their Ten 2 cabinet for larger gigs. I've played through a Micro Mark at Guitar Center. I put it in the category of silly little toys for bass, but that's my personal opinion. I guess if a GK MB112 is overkill I'd try playing the gig acoustically. Just a thought.

50 watts and and 6" speaker for almost $500?!
There are plenty of worthwhile small combos for that kind of money that will sound ultimately better than a 6" speaker.

I have always been fascinated by little amps. I would love to try out the Phil Jones Bass Cub. Have a video on there site that shows off the sound.

I have the Genz Benz Shuttle 3.0-8t it is 13 lbs and you can use and extension cab if you need it, the Shuttle puts out 300 watts
I have a minimark I've used on dozens of gigs, tons of rehearsals and practice - even used it as an acoustic guitar amp a few times. Great amp, built like a tank and sounds great! I use it w/ a SABDDI - even a V'r on occasion but the B does fart out occasionally at loud volumes but hey . . . what an amazing little box
It did sound really good with EB. Not a huge amount of volume but fine for lounge type ensembles.Tone is bad huh?
I really didn't experiment a great deal with it so I shouldn't be too harsh but .... it's like it surgically extracted all the finger noise and gank from the bass and smashed it out at full volume.
It was really really weird. compared to the EB sound which I found to be quite even and rich for a tiny box.
If you barely need it just leave the amp at home. Enjoy the gloriously rich sound that is acoustic.
I might be one of the few who uses this amp since 2 years, in rehearsal and live with my celtic folk band.
For Gigs, it is barely inaudible, so I use the DI OUT and put it on the monitors, for rehearsal and acoustic gigs, this baby kills! (we have no drummer, but a percussionist with Cajon, Congas and Bodhran)
I even used it through a little passive mixer together with our acoustic guitarist. be sure to get the little Tweeter with it, makes a huge difference while slappin'!

I also tried a Micro at the Guitar Center, with an electric bass, and I was completely unimpressed with the lows. Just one tiny speaker. Now the PJ Bass Cub on the other hand....
This may be a bit b, but it IS made in the USA, it's reasonably priced and Carvin usually delivers the goods.
