Microphone for home recording

Ideas for a microphone ,for recording vocals and acoustic guitar under $200, for a decent sound not garbage.

If you have some source of phantom power, you could get a Shure Beta 87A off of the 'Bay for less than $200. Otherwise, a Beta 58A would work very well.

I would take a look at the Rode NT1-A. It is nice sounding, very versatile, and affordable condenser microphone for home recording.

+1 Excellent mic

You'd have to spend way more to touch its performance imho

I'd recommend the Audio Technica AT-3035, it's about $200 and sounds great.

+1 Natural sounding mic, not too hyped in the high frequencies. I've used it on vocals, guitar amps, and as a room mic recording drums.
