Microphones and mic amps, cheap ones

So the place where we rehearse is in dire need of some mic setup for me and our singer.

We need a decent mic amp that can be heard over drums and guitar and a decent mic. Our budget is quite tight though, about 400 bucks.

Wait, or is it a PA amp we need? I seriously have no idea about this type of gear.

Any ideas?

Unfortunately, I can't recommend specific products as I have little to no real experience with most bang-for-the-buck PA systems...

Would work, but try to find used and spend half as much. There is literally thousands of old used peavey and such PAs in pawn shops, garages, in storage.

you will need a PA system speakers of sorts....you could probably pick up a pair of speakers and a mixer and mic for around $400 used...might find something new, just depends on what you are willing to sacrifce...

No microphone will sound stunning on every source. You can use a tube mic, a dynamic mic and a regular condenser.
