Midland, TX info request

I might be spending a little time in Midland later this year. Just curious if anyone could get me any info about the town.

Any music scene at all? Shows, clubs, what have you. Or cool music stores or restaurants or anything interesting to check out, or in nearby towns?

Ain't much... gigs are few and hard to find unless you are willing to play for beer. I have to travel a lot

Yeah, I kinda figured it would be something like that. Just was hoping that there would be SOME stuff going on. Isn't near UT Permian Basin?

If you're willing to drive go to Austin on weekends...That's were you'll find a scene.

Also Lubbock is a couple of hours away. Depending on if Tech is in session or not some "okay" stuff there.
