Midlife crisis.

Nice ride. Sadly I don't fit in to exotic sports cars unless I'm crammed in as the passenger. I tried an Aston Martin DB9, Ferrari something and Lambo Diablo GT....couldn't close the door in the driver seat as my chicken legs next to the steering wheel didn't leave enough room to close let alone actually drive. My legs were up past 3 and 9 o'clock. I have been shocked in a few of those cars as honestly a miata offers more leg room.

A Lamborghini dealer once told me that the "tall man kit" is essentially a $5000 thinner seat, which allows someone at 6'2 to fit without hitting their head and with the ability to shift.

Not that I was shopping mind you.

Sports cars tend to be on the smaller side (at least inside) and european cars already tend to be smaller than those in the US in the first place, so I dare say it'd be a bit of a double hitter for someone on your side of the pond.

Though on saying that, Jeremy Clarkson isn't short (~6ft4 if I remember correctly), or slight, and he seemed to fit in a DB9 alright.

Your drummer bears a strikingly similar appearance to you. Groom Lake hasn't been used as a cloning ground for a herd of bearded cover band musicians, has it?:hmm:

I have no reason to believe I will be able to have the disposable income available to make the purchase of an "exotic red convertible sports car" at midlife. I am crossing my fingers that I will be able to purchase an item by that point with any of those descriptors.

This is why I occasionally buy a lotto ticket. That is me, BTW. I had to pay him fifty bucks to let me sit there. In truth, that car's a bit much for me. I'd probably buy an SLS. Oh, wait - that has a couple hundred more horsepower.

If a man of your mathematics background considers the lottery a sound financial decision I may need to reallocate my investments in favor of more of a more scratchable portfolio.:hmm:

My mid-live crisis event was learning to play guitar.... i have no money to spend on a car! :crying:

Me too, well I didn't learn at 40-years old but I bought my first electric and amp, no more Kumbaya around the campfire, from then on it has been "The Cowboy Song" in front of a nice screaming tube amp. Besides if I wanted to go the care route it would look more like this:

Sing it with me now.

"Low rider drives a little slower
Low rider is a real goer"

Oh yeah, I can hear those timbales now.

I never liked the phrase, Midlife Crisis. I prefer to think of it as Midlife Rewards. If you have the disposable income to buy yourself a few toys, be it a boat, hobby car, Harley or what ever you like is great. Most of us work and slave everyday so rewarding yourself with something that you always wanted helps make it worth all the effort. BTW, thats one cool looking car.

Exactly I always hated that term. It's the "I worked my tail off for years and can finally afford it" reward.

Buying a ticket to the lottery makes your chances of winning approximately equal to zero. Not buying a ticket makes them exactly equal to zero.
