MiJ J-basses quality nowadays?

I own a 1985 Fender MiJ Jazz Bass Special and a MiJ 93-94 62' Jazz RI. Both wonderful sounding and playing instruments. Right now my main player is my 62 RI', the fender Japan stuff is top notch. I'm sure the new stuff is great, my dad owns a more modern MiJ 70's RI that plays as good, if not better, as my 62 RI does.

I love this. MIJ Fender basses are my jam. I have an old JV Squier with a custom fretless neck, an MIJ Marcus Miller and used to have an old MIJ Foto-Flame P-bass that I really should have held onto. Would love to score one of those MIJ unlined fretless models from the 90's too.

Love these things!

I've had several Fender Japan basses - should have kept all of them.. I now have this ^, a 2012 JB75 and an AmStd 2010 (the MIJ resting in the AmStd case in this pic) and both are keepers. Both top quality Fenders. IMO.
