Yup, I have lost all respect for Ozzy and his management AKA his wife Sharon. Ozzy is just a ho and Sharon is his pimp. They screwed Bob Daisley and they also screwed Randy's family out of royalties and credits. Then in the ultimate disrespect to Randy's memory they remastered and re-recorded the bass and drum tracks on the albums he played on and really ruined them IMO. They don't sound the same.

I would agree that Ozzy is a Ho and that he his reality is not the same as yours or mine. Maybe your right in that liner notes are dubious after all instead of Phil Sousan he has Bill Susan.
But what I will base my theory on is this, if you listen to flying high, over the mountain, bark at the moon ect.. it sounds like the same bassist, same sort of tone. Listen to No more Tears and listen to Jar of Flies from AIC clearly it's the same tone and quite different fron Ozzy's earlier stuff.

No disrespect to Bob Daisley, I think he's great. I am not a huge ozzy fan hence why I have the greatest hits only so I might not be as knowledgeble as a die hard fan but IMO either Mike stole his sound from Bob or Mike did the recording.

Speaking of Bob Daisley(his name was spelled wrong in the liner notes as well) if you have COMCAST CABLE- with that on demand thing they have a concert with Living Loud (his new band?), and an interview with Bob as well....Sorry to say tho, I am not to crazy about the singer.

On Mikes behalf tho, the stuff with AIC, BLS, and Heart kick ass. If you really dig Mike canadian bass check out the Ozzy Live and Loud DVD... :bassist:

Mike is credited along with others for writing the song and is named as the bass player for the recording.
Phil Sousan also wrote and recorded on The Ultimate Sin album.

It's a pity that Daisley never gets the recognition he deserves for all he did in Ozzy's band... He even wrote a lot of the lyrics in ozzy's cd's...

It was my understanding that Mike was using Fenders at the beginning with Ozzy (No More Tears), and that the first Spector he ever had was one given to him by Ozzy. So whoever recorded the bass tracks on NMT (Mike or Bob) was probably done so with a Fender. BUT, he was using the Active Fenders, which I believe had EMGs, so that may be your sound connection between NMT and the AIC work that Mike had played on.

Mike Inez can be found playing a wide variety of both Spectors and Warwicks with AIC.... Just to settle any discrepancies over Warwick versus Spector sound. Either will fly.
Ampeg amps and cabs. Funny that on the Ampeg site these cabs have [Invalid or Expired Link Removed]
and in another Link Removed the logos are missing. ?
There are pictures of him recording Black Gives Way to Blue with a silver Warwick Streamer and on tour with AIC from 2006 to 2009 with both a red Spector (above) and various Warwicks.

I know he used an alvarez acoustic for the unplugged show. It may have been that same one as was only three years apart. He's been seen with another newer acoustic [Invalid or Expired Link Removed] and on the 2006 acoustic tour with William Duvall and AIC.

as commercially gagging as this clip may be, it does cover a great deal of his gear. Still, a rather cool way to design an artist feature dvd IMO. Too bad they made one for :eek: Fieldy... :rolleyes:

I don't know about with Ozzy but historically Mike Inez's main bass with AIC has been the old Warwick Streamer. That's what he used from when he joined during the Dirt tour until they stopped touring in 96 or so. I've got several old bootleg DVDs of him playing that bass with AIC.
I've seen them live three times since 06 (with new singer Will DuVall) and Mike used the old Streamer exclusively for two shows and the Streamer and a Spector for the other.
I have also seen some recent pics of him using both the Streamer and the Spector.
I like the sound of his Spector better. I also generally liked Mike Starr's tone (all Spector) better too - although Inez has had some killer distorted tones.
I believe he's always used Ampeg SVT amps and cabs. When I saw them he used two racked SVTII heads.

As some of you may know, Mike and I use the same tech. Just called Freddie and he told me this is Mikes current rig.

2 SVT II Pro amps... Into wireless into Ampeg tube DI into Sansamp DI Into cabs, He sometimes uses a chorus after DI's Cabs are 2 1X18's, 4 1x15's, and 2's 810. One 810 on each side of the other mentioned cabs.
