Mikro bass mods

I’d like to replace the bridge on my Mikro without having to drill the body. Anyone know of a black bridge that will work without body mods? Also, how about a good recommendation on some tuners too. I saw someone had used DR black beauties in this bass but I can’t locate them in short scale size. Thanks for any recommendations!

Probably best to post this question in the "Hardware, Setup & Repair" section.

Jason at fretnation.com (aka @SLaPiNFuNK) can special order them in true "short scale" for you.

NOTE: DR's factory "short scale" is 34" in winding length (ball end to taper), which is actually "medium scale" for most manufacturers.

Why do you want to replace the tuning machines? Are you blacking this thing out? By the time you get a new bridge, tuning machines, and (presumably) control knobs on there, you’ve paid about as much for mods as you likely have for the bass. Not that I think there’s anything wrong with that, but I find myself pleasantly surprised by the hardware and electronics on my Mikro, particularly the tuning machines; I wouldn’t assume they need replacing just because they came stock on a budget instrument.

I like the stock gear too and I have no issues with it. I did replace the pickups and was considering all black hardware on the white body. After more consideration I think I’ll stick with the stock chrome hardware. Thanks for the reply!
Black on white would look great. Makes sense to do the mods for cosmetic reasons. My only mod to my Mikro was purely for looks (and along with my green plumage, very temporary) :roflmao:
