Double Bass mildew removal

Howdy bassers,

Ive been a very bad bass owner...I havent touched my upright in some time now since NYC is a little more friendly to its younger electric bother. I recently took my upright out to dust it off and see if i have any chops left (i dont) and I noticed there were some mildew spots all over the bass. Do you guys know of a harmless way to remove these spots? I have a few open seems Im taking care of at the same time, and id like to get this bass back into playing condition asap!

I had a similar problem after storing my basses in my not-exactly-arid basement and neglecting them while my youngest was in the NICU for two months. On the advice of the wonderful Jake DeVilliers I attacked the intruders with a combination of Tilex, sunshine and air circulation.
