I decided to try my Squier Mini P Bass in church this morning since I knew it was going to be crowded up there. I was kind of nervous about it, actually. No one even noticed until I pointed it out. Seemed to sound fine to everyone.

Mini P Bass in Church

Looks cool! If a Mustang can work up there (or in any live setting) why not a mini P?
Four acoustics? I feel sorry for your sound guy. 
Probably the best bass tone I’ve ever mixed for in a church was a guy with a Kala u bass going through a small combo. Sounded amazing in the house. Honestly at this level just having someone that knows how to play is so much more important than gear, I’m sure it sounded great.

Why would anyone notice? No one pays attention to the bass player. Especially when you’re worshipping.
Lots of people on here gig with Mikros and mini P basses. The perception that they are substandard toys is just wrong.

I’m not surprised no one noticed. I’ve played in tighter places and wish I had the brains to use a smaller bass. As bad as it was, I had to play with the neck of the bass neck at the same angle as an upright for 2 weeks 4 hours a night. No joke.
I own many basses. For the ukulele group I'm with, I used to play the rubber string variety of instruments. Now I use a Flight Mini JB (it's a mini Jazz bass solid body, identical to my Fender). I believe that only other bass players will notice that you are playing a mini P. And they will more than likely be impressed. The rest of the world doesn't understand or care about our instruments...and that's ok with me.
I play my 32" P a lot in church. I like the fact that shorter basses lean toward being a little deeper voiced. It's subtle, but true.
