Mini Rigs of Doom Four

IMG_0201.jpg

 Niiiice. And the MBoD!

I've used that and I still have a 1210L. This goes deep and seems to have a flatter response. Very tight full range sound with lots of punch.

Hmm? Now, you've got me thinking. I own an older Schro 1212R (ferrite magnet) which sounds fantastic and is ridiculously loud, yet this cab you have is so compact and so loud as well. I would really appreciate it if you could elaborate more in terms of differences (ex. is there a major difference in volume?)

Btw, how much does a Glasstone lil'G go for?

Thanks.

I've owned/gigged/heard most of the Schroeder lineup. I like what they do. I have a 1210L and had a couple of other larger heavier models.

My Lil G plus one of my class D amps is the best live sound I've ever had regardless of size. Ever. Just seems to be a fuller more even sound than what I got from my Schroeders and most of the name brand cabs other than Bag End and Euphonics Audio. I prefer this over those from a portability standpoint, still love the way my Bag End coax and EA VL110 stacks sound... but my Lil G weighs less than one of the VL110's and has more than enough volume for any of my gigs, particularly outdoors.

Soundwise it's a surprisingly large full range sound. Depth, punch, not scooped, every bass sounds like it sounds vs. sounding like it sounds coming through a particular model cab.

If I had to start over from scratch I know exactly what I would get: a Lil G cab and a Kustom KXB500 amp. Sounds amazing, they're both steals as far as price, portability is ridiculous, sound is excellent and since I run the head's tone controls flat because of it's transparency I have very consistent sound, day in and day out. Load in/out times are almost laughably short.

The Lil G's current price is $799 AFAIK. The Kustom is selling for $399 or less. I got mine for $190 delivered thanks to the Hot Deals thread. I can't think of any combo that even comes close to this overall performance and ergonomics for this price brand new... and I've looked. A truly serious pro rig.

Thanks a lot for your input! With this info., I'm certainly considering one of these.

My brand new mini rig: Genz Shuttle Max 9.2 and a pair of Bergantino HD112s. I don't have much experience with this rig but, so far, I think this pushes as much air as my old Ampeg SVT-4pro/610. And, the biggest bonus is that I can carry it up my stairs without killing my back.

TH500 and DB112s.

I want to pick up a smaller/lighter cab for times when Im just jamming out with a buddy.

Im thinking about getting a Fearful 12" cab or maybe a Crazy 88.

At the same time I also like new gear so Ive been thinking about a Walkabout or the AER Amp One.

Out of curiosity, do you always set your eq on the Tone Hammer set at 12 o'clock or was that just in the photo?
