I know there's not many out there, I found the ashdown series and really like the little bastard but I cannot for the life of me find somewhere to purchase the damn thing. Was wondering what else is out there, I really can't seem to find much, I have a large rig but isn't good for apartment volume, and a small practice combo amp but I'd like something nicer.

I'd start looking for a used PF-50T Ampeg head
or if you want even cheaper, a used PF-20T
In the past I used a guitar tube head (18 watts), but it had over-sized transformers that could handle the low frequencies of bass
what it didn't have though was a 4-band EQ, which would go a long way in a guitar amp, if you're going to use it for bass

Don't know what your main rig contains, but if you are ok with the Fender sound, the Super Champ X2 does a close enough bassman sound for practice. When it seems a waste to warm up 8-12 tubes for a short practice, $299 or less delivered is hard to beat. I found the "dirty twin" settings a better alternative to most od pedals.
