Greg (hdracer) and I met this morning and, after ogling his KILLER 5 string Fender P-Bass, set the date.

The 2nd Annual Cabin Fever GTG will be on Feb. 3rd - 2-5 PM

As before, send me a PM and I'll put you on the list for last minute info. Most of you will have been there before - so let me know if you will be needing the address.

I'm looking forward to it! We hope to be able to announce a teaching moment soon.

If anyone has a BOAT HORN that they can bring to announce the seminar let me know.

Bassmule (Jeff) - I can bring a GB Shuttle 6.0. Dave (ExaltBass) usually has one there. I may have a GK MB200 by then, too.

I've had the Shuttle 6.0 for at least three years no with never an issue. I don't push it hard, but it gets used at church most Sundays. I get GAS occasionally for the Shuttle 9.2 or the Streamliner, but I usually settle down and relax with the fact that I have never had a single complaint about the 6.0.

I usually pair it with a 1x10 cab that puts out pretty good low end by its very nature, so the concern I hear about it being a little shy on the low end has never been a real issue for me. The other concern I see raised about it is that it's pretty clean/hi-fi/sterile, which has also never bothered me. I like my P-Bass and Noguera five string fretless, which are my two main church basses (it's been all Noguear this year), so having what they put out amplified fairly accurately is not a negative for me. I have a VT-Bass pedal if I want to add character to the amp.

I'll bring it along if Dave isn't bringing his. I'm bringing a drumset so I'm trying to minimize the amount of bass gear I bring. Someone asked me to bring my BP-102-4 loaded 1x10 (the church cab) and I will. If the little Duke LeJuene designed "Low cost DIY 1x10" cabs are done by then, they'll come too. I don't expect to be done with them, but I will be working on them through out the remainder of this year and into the next.

Maybe someone with some connectors and cable would be interested in showing how to make your own cables, or demonstrating switching out a defective jack or pot.

I bet some folks would be amazed to see what's really involved in these procedures.

I could do this if there's an interest as I've done plenty of tinkering and am handy with a soldering iron. I could also show off some of the passive switchers I've made if people are interested in learning how to build one.

Kraig, I'll be bringing my Shuttle 6.0 and Gries Neo 1x15. I should have a demo Ben Lindsey LPB Jazz Bass (his, not mine), my currently-being-painted P-J and the 'Stang.

burl0029 - I'll bring some short cable scraps to show the wiring on different connectors, and some other stuff too (different Speakons, samples of most styles of plugs). If you're up to doing some soldering that would be cool. Perhaps we can trade off?

Sounds good. One of my previous projects was adding a speakon jack to an old Eden amp so I could plug into a newer cab. We can talk about that and other things.

I'm just bringin loud stuff....

I'm SHOCKED! :D
