Hey guys, another fellow Minnesota guy here. I've been in some bigger metal acts in our neck of the woods over the years and after a long hiatus we are back into things.

We just did a show this past Saturday with some bigger name bands, but it was our first show and we have lost a lot of connections.

Anyway, anyone know how to go about getting into the 7th Street Entry? We wanna try to set something up there but after 2 emails and no response I'm not sure how to go about it.

Anyone got any idea?

In my experience, you either have to have a connection with a booking guy, or get on someone's bill who does. Network, network, network.

Yes ...

DATE Nov 10...
TIME 7:30 (gives you a chance to miss traffic and have dinner with your families) to whenever

Same stuff as always --- young folks are fine (it's cool for your parents to attend - we can set them up on wireless if they'd be bored)

Remember --
You do not have to own $$$$$$ gear or be a superstar to be attend. Some of my favorites have been sucky gear with sucky players (oh wait--- that's me)

J Schroeder,

You've never been to one of these. Is there any chance we can beg you to give a 5-10 minute talk on how to construct a walking line over 12 bar? ..... the 10 turnarounds you need to know etc?.... (many of us resort to a b7 box walk)

Ok. I'm an idiot. I just now looked more closely at the date and realized that's the day my second child is due to be born. Also, depending on the timing of the birth, I may be up north for deer hunting. I need to learn how to read.

If the child does come roughly on time, I'll certainly be here in the metro and might be able to sneak away for a couple hours. We'll see.

yeah. The band I'm in plays a tune that requires a walking bass line. While I try to play the root on the 1 and walk to the next chord progression, I don't feel very comfortable playing it. It seems very stiff. I would really like to improve.

Let's make it a walking round table at the next one. I'm passable at it and can probably help people get going. Bring something with either an 1/8" headphone jack or RCA's out and bring examples of the type of tunes you want to walk over. We can figure out how we're going to amplify the backing tracks. I have a powered mixer with RCA's if needed. Can someone bring a moderately hi-fi four or eight ohm cab? It doesn't have to be capable of crushing small animals.

I have a couple of JBL Cabaret clone cabs (15" JBL + JBL bullet tweeter) that sound very good if you need them. Or, I have pair of Yamaha Club series (12 + horn) wedges too.

Hey guys, I'm looking for a place to do a photo shoot. It's a 50's themed shoot. I need an old looking area with brownstone type buildings with steps going directly to the sidewalk. The idea is that the band will be dressed in typical 50's hoodlum attire and some pretty girls are walking by as the band tries to get their attention.

The only area I found is so busy that it makes the shoot too difficult. Another idea would be an ancient gas station and the girls are in an old car. I have the cars, the girls, the band attire and a photographer, just not a decent location. Minneapolis, St Paul, or burbs preferred but will consider locations a half hour out.

Any ideas are welcome. Thanks, Scott
