Mis-Matching Cabinets

Was just reading a few threads about how un-matched sets don't work well. I would like to hear from some of you that do make it work. C'mon, don't be shy. Some of you guys have accumulated a lot of gear over the years.
4x10 + 2x15
2x12 + 2x10
etc. etc. etc.
Maybe even different manufacture as well. Pics would be icing on the cake.

I'll sometimes go 8x8 + 1x18. My amp is stereo so each side is run off it's own amp, volume control for each. If I need even more power than that I'll bring a separate power amp so I've got the head bridged to the 8x8 and another amp bridged to the 1x18. At this point I'm already louder than the loudest drummer I've ever heard, I don't see a need for more than that.

Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

I stumbled onto using an Acme B2 on top of an Epifani 212D I'm not sure what possesed me to do it but it worked great.

I put that same Acme on top of my Berg 212 and it didn't even last the first set before I unplugged it. It was that bad.

I have mixed and matched cabs forever...and never had any problems...as long as the cabs are "quality" cabs to start with...

I am currently mixing a Genz Benz 212T with an Ashdown 4X10 for larger venue gigs...and love the combination...I also use a Mesa 1x15 with a 4x10 sometimes as well...
