Missing truss rod nut Affinity

I just purchased a used affinity neck in hopes of using it as the basis for a fretless project. I've done that before a couple of times but this neck appears to have the nut missing. All I can see is what looks like female threads. I tried to post a picture; if you zoom in you may be able to see what I mean. So, what I'm wondering is does anybody know the size of those threads and/or if replacement nuts are available for something like that. If not, I'll just have to router off the fingerboard, replace the truss rod, and shape a new fingerboard, but I was hoping to avoid all that.

Am I seeing flats around the edges? I'd expect a Squire to take a hex key. Probably 4mm, possibly 5mm.

And, yes, could be rounded out. If it's a single acting rod you might be able to tap a slightly larger Torx wrench in there and get the nut out.
