Missing you ...?

Do you ever miss your number one when you are away from it? I don't mean just missing playing because you can't for some reason. I mean missing a specific bass.

I am on vacation right now and I am longing for my number one. I think of it often enough. I think about the neck in my hands, and the tone it gives me and how much I miss playing it. I know it is a bit strange, as it is an inanimate object, but we often miss our home when we are away and they too are inanimate objects.

Anyway, I miss my main bass. I should have brought a bass with me. That would have help, but nothing is like your number one if you have one. Am I right?

Hah! Took my kid on a trip this weekend and it went a day over and all I could think about was my Sabre. I could have easily taken it with me. But now we're home together and all sproingy with the humbuckers. Pretty sure I saw one of the eyes in the maple wink at me.

I miss my TBirds and my rig in general whenever I'm away. Sometimes it feels like everything I do in life is an attempt to get back in front of my amp with bass in hand.

No. While I do enjoy playing the bass that I use the most (ie. My #1), it is still just a tool. I don't miss my screwdrivers or table saws either.
