Mix Engineers

Hi Justin

I'm a freelance producer and i'm looking for mix engineers for my projects. I want to expand my choices and i would like to hear your advice.
I'm a fan of people like Alan Moulder, M. Brauer, Ken Andrews and other big names, but i rarely have projects with enough budget to afford mixers at that level.
I'm sure that USA is plenty of very good mix engineers that maybe are not so high profile, but are talented and more affordable... Do you know someone with that profile?
I mostly do alternative rock and electronic stuff.

You could add the following people to your list for sure:

Michael Patterson
Tony Hoffer
Billy Bush
Dave Trumfio
Husky Huskolds

These are still A-list guys, but everyone, including Ken Andrews, will work for a lower fee if they feel a personal investment with the music and are passionate about it. So, my advice is to shoot for the right fit first, and worry about the money later.
