Mixer and laptop live, table ? How do you hold them up ?

I need more desk space now that I'm also carrying a laptop to gig's. I figure and 36 by 22 would be ideal. Has to break down to flat and pack in a Subaru OB wagon along with the rest of the PA, Bass rig, Basses, wife, etc... Anybody got anything cool they use ?

Also, you could use two of these: [Invalid or Expired Link Removed] . One review: Invalid Link Removed put over 900 lbs on one and it held up solidly. Folds very small and flat so it should work for you.

I use a heavy duty Keyboard stand that has adjustable height and a piece of plywood. A couple of pieces of ply actually. One for small setups and another for larger.

Or you can take a mixer table and fly the laptop over the mixer with with many options like around Amazon

“Lifetime” has a couple just a tad bit longer than that, I think 4ft, you can adjust to various heights, and they fold flat. On one version, the top itself also folds in half. They’re pretty strong and light, and inexpensive.

I got them at Sam’s Club, but they’re available at many retailers.

Get a mixer case with a big doghouse, and set the computer on the doghouse. This will be deeper, but not as wide, and the laptop will be easier to see and use.

When we do this, I set the laptop on the floor... use a long USB cord... set it to record and walk away.

The laptop can't be knocked to the floor when it's already there... dorking with them is a party killer.

For acoustic gigs, we use a snare drum stand to hold the mixer...

For my gig that uses more channels etc, we permanently mounted the laptop to a rack... Fewer things to dork with is always better.

I actually have 2 of the x-folding table from the first post. Not real steady... Not sure I want to trust my mixer to that... The workhorse stand looks like a nice option. 2 of those clamped might do the trick.

Gotta take a closer look at the amazon options.

Card table, too big... I so some really small rooms. Laptop on the floor is bound to be a problem for me there... Larger stge that could work though.

The laptop is there to support iPad remote control of the main mix and each of three monitor mixes as we all like something a little different.

Look toward drum hardware and keyboard benches.. either are low cost and tons sturdier

Multiple mon mixes and iPad remote control of the mixer are the main reasons I went with the Presonus 16.4.2... The laptop will record as well but mostly it is there to serve the remote control options. All my band mates need to support their own mix is an iphone or ipad and my granting them access to the functions i am willing to... It is brutally cool... It is also very helpful that the folks i'm playing with are not knuckleheads in any way. I've been in environments in the past where this concept is something I'd have buried before it grew...
