Mixer issues

Not sure if this is in the right spot. If not please relocate it.

I have been borrowing a Carvin powered mixer 6 channel model. Now it is time to return it. I figured I would test it out before returning the mixer. It powers up, but only produces a very faint crackling sound. Sometimes the sound when come through but it is distorted and sounds similar to a telephone.

I have tried different speakers and the issue persists.

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Check cable too.

Not trying to drive speakers off headphone out by any chance?

Speakers work for sure, and cables are good. I double checked by using the ones from my bass rig. Took it apart and put it back together. It seems to be working now! Hopefully it stays working.
