Mixing Cabs with an SVT 4 Pro

So, I'm pretty happy with my Ampeg SVT 4 Pro, but I'm not at all happy with the Ampeg 4x10. I'm looking for something with more clarity, a little less growl. I'm interested in a 2x10, 4x10 or 2x12 cab.

Who has mixed the SVT 4 Pro with Aguilar, Epifani, or Bergantino, Hartke cabs and what did you think of the tone?

Those who have, do you think it's worth keeping the SVT or should I just get a new matching head?

I know impedance will come into play. I'm sure there has probably been a thread on this, but I couldn't find what I was looking for and didn't have the time to search for very long today.

I found the 4 PRO to be lacking in the clarity department. The only time I could get the head to work to my favor was to heavily reduce the 33-150hz range by A LOT. I had decent success with it while using the newer Mesa 410, but I had better success going with a Carvin BX 1200. Much more clarity and midrange response.

The 4 PRO does not let the clarity of strings come through - at least for me with my Spector Euro 5LX's. The Carvin BX 1200 works beautifully with my ears.

I run 4-pro into a Carvin BRX 10.4Neo and I'm super happy with it. The backline at rehearsal is an older 810e and that combo does that sound well. But with the Carvin cab, it's like the sun has come out. All the little buttons and clicky things on the amp are in play and each bass comes through very much as the individuals that they are.

That cab will take everything that amp will throw at it, unless I crank the gain in bridged Mono.

I play clean 99% of the time, rotating between P/J w/flats, a P/J w/nickels and a fretless (all 5 strings). I love the combo.
