I want to modify a few things on my bass and had some questions about materials.

One thing I was thinking of doing was getting the hardware replated in copper and sealed. Would this affect tone?

If you are thinking bridge and tuning gerars, it would not affect the tone at all. The plating would only be a few microns thick.
