Hey guys so on my hunt looking for a stingray body, I came across this , I personally thought the color was amazing so I tried to have the seller part it out but alas I'm sure he had way more invested in it than the price of the body.What do u guys think worth the asking price?

ehhh ya but it was sort of always just a piece of wood. i mean at the end of the day it's the musician who's special, not the instrument. someone felt that the bass would best serve their needs by being changed, so in that way i think it's actually really cool. it gives you insight about another musician.

I can see modding the crap out of a Fender Jazz or P bass. But the pre Ernie Ball Stngrays are a finite quantity. There will never be any more like that (the classics are very similar but arent nitro finished, and also have some other differences).
It's like when I see an 80's Mustang that's all jacked up with 22" rims. Who cares.
When I see a 68 Barracuda on 22" rims I get all bitey. Bitey and stabby.
Also, I can see that maybe you snapped the neck off. oopsy, S__t happens. But the preamp and the pickups?

If you want to mod up a Musicman... buy an OLP or some other knock-off... IMHO. And the logic of turning a Musicman into a Fender style bass is beyond reason.

I have seen 2 different versions of these, this fretless is the third!! I posted a photo several monts back. I will try try find it.

New pickguard and a replacement MM pup (Nordie!), bam, instant MM'ray.

at least the body modifications can be covered by a pickguard.

As far as value, there isn't much Musicman left. I guess the Lane Poor PUs are worth something.

so what would u say the body is at least worth,remember its gutted for 5 string pups, and they relocated the output jack to a side one,
