modding and starting from scratch

Good morning everyone,

I had a thought and I decided I want to put togther a bass with all of my own customizations

I know all about warmoth and buying bodies and necks but for my first one I wanted to know what you thought of buying an SX Ursa 1 and replacing the neck with the old style headstock. Also would I be able to repaint the thing with my own custom design?

Anyone attemepted a similar feat and if you can offer some pointers?

Thank you

I imagine replacing the SX necks (old and new) would be a direct bolt-on fit.

You could ask Kurt @ Rondo to just be sure, I heard he's very friendly.

And yes, you could paint your own design on there, sure, why not? You might have to strip the poly off the existing body using Citi-strip or a heat gun, that's a bit of work, but there's definitely lots of threads how to do this.
