Modelling in Winisd

I'd like to ask a few questions if I may regarding modelling filters in Winisd.

For the 30 Hz high pass filter in a Mesa Subway D800, is it appropriate to use the Linkwitz-Reilly 4th order?

If so what Q should I use?

And where would the cutoff frequency be for modelling this? I know it says 30 Hz but is that a number that applies to the F3 or F6 points? Or dead nuts 30 Hz?

And for the shelving bass control, could I use the Parametric EQ with a Q of 2?

Should I go build bird houses?

Search isn't working well on this computer, or I would try to lend a hand. Try searching for posts by agedhorse with keywords d800 and hpf. If you have too many returns to sort through, change up keywords or go to the HPF megathread or the subway thread and check the box for search this thread only.
 
Start with a 30Hz Butterworth 4th order (that's the -3dB point, only LR filters are often specified at -6dB because they are used in constant power summing applications).

The filter is actually slightly beyond a Butterworth alignment, bug you won't be able to model that.

Not sure what you are trying to do with a shelving bass control model, but the parametric eq isn't going to help you here.

Winisd is not the right tool for what (I think) you are trying to do.

Ok thanks. I'm trying to model what happens to the signal when I turn the bass knob down on the d800.
 
Winisd isn't going to get you anything even remotely close to reality.

When you turn the bass knob down, you get less bass ;) It's a shelving filter where the effective knee frequency falls with more cut and the shelf plateau will also fall until it hits it's design limits (about -15dB)

Best just to use your ears.
