modifying an fbass

easy question:

is it easy to change the regular strap holders to recessed dunlop strap locks (like usually seen ken smiths for example) in an fbass ac5? i just prefer the recessed locks..a lot actually.

is drilling necessary to do the change?

Yes, you'll have to drill. I'd be very careful doing that on the somewhat slender tip of the upper horn.

+1 Yes indeed you will need to drill.

And that area can be a challenge, especially if you're trying it with a hand drill. You can also potentially damage/crack the finish if it's poly. Just understand the risks if you try to do it yourself, could most likely get a local tech to do it fairly cheaply.

I wouldn't even think of doing that to a bass with sculpted horns, too risky.
