Modulus Bass, what model is this?

I just picked this up while traveling and was wondering if anyone knows the model name and roughly what year it was made? No serial number found and it has EMG pickups and a Leo Quan bridge. Thanks for any information.

I'm not a modulus expert by any stretch but I've never seen that headstock shape. The fact it doesn't have the angular pattern in the graphite of the neck is a little worrisome too. You should probably ask here:

I’m no expert, but I’d say either a very early Quantum, or a BassStar.

I’m pretty sure they shared headstock shape at some point.

I’m gonna put the year at 83-84-85 That preceded the quantum. It may have been a one off but to the PJ config. This may be called an SPi?

Not an SPi; those had the Integrated Neck Joint that was visible on the front below the end of the fingerboard (similar to current Quantum bolt-ons)

But yeah, looks like a mid-80s Modulus... which means it may not have had an official model name, it was just one of their “4-string bass” models.

Pots date to the 26th week of 1985. Just put it on the scale and even with the Badass II it is a comfortable 7 pounds 13 ounces. I appreciate everbodys comments and help.
