I really haven't been able to put this thing down yet, and that's sad considering I have such a nice Dingwall...
I don't know what it is- this thing is even better suited it seems (for me) than a Quantum, which I still think is about one of the best things out there (top 5, easy!), but wow- this is just effortless to play, great string spacing, and clear-as-a-bell definition all the way up the 22 fret-neck.

Simply awesome. I can't imagine what a double-buck version would be like!!! :hyper: :hyper: :hyper:

This thing is just plain and simple and GORGEOUS in real life. When I got the Dingwall, people were like "that's a pretty cool bass". Now when I bring the Flea, it's more like "Wow. That's just, beautiful!"

I always thought Q's were just "It". They're big, heavy, solid, and when you boost the bass on them, most PA subs run for the hills!

But the Flea is light, better-balanced, just feels more "nimble on it's feet" and easier to play, if that makes any sense. I can see why people like them so much now. I think I'm hooked. :)

Now if I could only get that darn Treble to cooperate w/out pulling it 1-tick away from OFF!!:o

I use DR Lo-Riders. They seem to do a good job of taming that Treble a good bit. I'm sure Elixirs would have a similar effect, but I've grown to not liking them all that much after years of using them.
I think some DR Black Beauties would be friggin' awesome on that black/pearloid tho!! :hyper: :hyper:

I tried DR Hi-beams but didn't really like them. After one show I took them off and put the stock strings modulus uses back on the bass.
Kind put me off to DR strings but maybe I'll give the lo-riders a try.

I never liked the way elixirs felt so those are out.

Stock, it's a '97, it's got the bart preamp in it though, I've always wanted to try the LP with the aguilar preamp, but I don't want to wire it up just to realize I don't like it.

Right now I'm using hi-beams. They were a little bright when I got them, but after them being on there long enough I really like the sound. I probabaly won't reaplce them until one breaks, but that's just how I am, I like dead(er) strings.

You guys are making me miss my Flea bass.

Most love the Lane Poor, I know. But you guys prefer the Bart or Basslines in current models?
