Modulus Mob

I think he used 40DCs with BQC if I remember correctly. His recordings with Modulus were not cutting through the mix compared to the ones recorded with his Spector. Mod and Spector had similar images to me but seems it's not.
Which Spector did he use? The spectors I’ve played were maple (heavy) so had a very distinct, forward tone to die for.

He used Euro with 40DCs and Tonepump in the recording and Modulus Q5 in the live until he got his first Spector signature. After he got his first signature with DC and BQC, I think he used his signatures mainly. Now he is using his another signature too.

Thanks Taylor!! Oteil Burbridge purple MM-P joins the family. Love the luminlay fret dots. It’s got a flex core 4 band pre now and some extra capacitors for the tone control which works in active mode! Soooo killer plays great, fatbasstone.com hooked it up!

I was wondering who was going to end up with that one. Beautiful bass. How is the 33" scale? Your collection may be nicer than mine.

Also, 2 MM/P basses! You don't see many of those.

Thank you, the 33” scale is nice. They obviously just moved the bridge up an inch, kept the neck the same size and made it 24 frets so it really doesn’t feel very different at all, just a little looser which I like. I am actually a big fan of Taylor’s music and couldn’t let this one go. It’s the best sounding bass I’ve ever heard, I will surely have some videos using it later in the year.

Could anyone take a stab at telling me what preamp is in this Mod I’m looking at? Looks like EMG pups and it appears to be a 2-band pre. I assume it’s an EMG but that’s just speculation on my part. The store is unable to verify:

I pulled out my early 80s 6 string recently and it just sounds so good, especially through a large PA. However, it has neck issues. Excellent action up to about the 7th fret, but it just climbs from there, which results in sore hands and wrists after the gig. I'm wondering who might be the best bet to get it refurbished at this point. I know that after getting this addressed, it will be an utterly amazing bass.

Hopefully there's someone out there who could handle the job.

No truss rod? Too much/little relief? I’ve only read great things about Erik (sp?) at warpedneck.com. Pretty reasonable price as well. You can search TB and you’ll find great reviews. No affiliation and I haven’t used his services myself as I wasn’t aware of him when I needed my Q5 replaned/refretted due to warpage that was beyond the truss rod’s capability.
